What is LOVE 15?

LOVE 15 is about allowing ourselves to be inconvenienced in our busy lives to help those around us. Jesus commands us to love one another, not for return or for reward but because he loved us. This isn’t about preaching to people or getting them to church, Jesus said that our love will show people that we are His followers.

This is about us as a church focussing on the needs of people: people we know and people we don’t know; our closest friends and families and strangers we meet. LOVE 15 is not about me, myself and I, it’s about taking the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign off our lives and saying “Go ahead God, inconvenience me!”

We want to encourage people to do things like:

  • Call friends and relatives that need some company
  • Help a stranger on the street
  • Help someone move house
  • Visit a care home for the elderly once a week
  • Talk to someone at the bus stop
  • Look after a friend’s kids while they go and relax
  • Offer someone a lift
  • and whatever else you can come up with!

We want to know what you’ve been doing for LOVE 15, send your story to love15@proclaimers.com

If you're on Twitter, let us know what you've been up to by including #love15 in your tweet.

You can find other people’s stories on our LOVE 15 Blog and some downloads for your computer and mobile phone that will remind you to be give 15 minutes every day.

PS: Thanks to the guys at Abundant Life Church in Bradford for the great idea! ;)
